Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks a Special Events Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and manage parking and transportation logistics for campus events, visitors, and programs. You will serve as the primary contact for event organizers and campus partners, developing customized access plans that ensure a safe, efficient, and customer-focused experience for attendees.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Facilities Management, Event Management, or related field.
Two (2) years of related experience required; work experience may substitute education.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement detailed parking plans for events based on attendance, venue requirements, and parking resources.
Collaborate with event organizers, facility management, and internal departments to assess needs and align resources.
Coordinate with third-party vendors including valet services, shuttle providers, and traffic management partners.
Monitor operations during events to optimize traffic flow and space utilization.
Maintain event parking schedules, documentation, and post-event reports with performance insights.
