Job summary

Truckee Meadows Community College is seeking an Events Manager to lead major institutional events from concept through post-event evaluation and to oversee on-site operations during events. The role supports campus units and coordinates with facilities, IT/AV, Marketing, and Public Safety to ensure successful execution.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2+ years of experience in event planning, with strong budgeting, vendor management, and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, business, communications, marketing, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience planning and executing events, conferences, or similarly complex projects, including vendor, budget, and timeline management.

Responsibilities

• Lead major institutional events from concept through post-event evaluation, including timelines and budgets.
• Oversee on-site operations and handle issues during events; escalate as needed.
• Coordinate guest experience for events involving Regents, elected officials, donors, and other distinguished guests.
• Support campus units to define event goals, timelines, roles, and resource needs.
• Develop and maintain event templates, checklists, and planning guides; ensure records support continuity year to year.
• Manage event budgets, source and manage vendors, and coordinate contracts and purchasing.
