Job summary

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) seeks an University Events & Commencement Specialist to plan and deliver high-profile university events and commencement ceremonies. You will manage intake, timelines, budgets, logistics, and vendor coordination to ensure seamless experiences for students, families, faculty, staff, and guests.

The role requires three years of related experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Qualifications

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related experience.
Occasional evenings, weekends, and ability to access off-site event.
Valid CA Driver's License preferred.

Responsibilities

University Commencement: Coordinate and implement assigned planning and operational activities for University Commencement ceremonies. Develop and maintain project timelines, communication plans, logistics, campus and vendor coordination, registration, ticketing, guest management, ceremony programs, rehearsals, and related events.
University Events: Coordinate assigned University Relations events from intake through execution. Consult with event requesters; develop event plans, budgets, timelines, and logistics; coordinate campus partners and vendors; and ensure adherence to university policies and approved plans.
