Job summary

Northeastern Illinois University seeks an Operations Coordinator to manage event operations in the Student Union, Education Building, and other NEIU venues. You will advance event needs with NEIU faculty, staff, renters, and external partners, and oversee setup, AV tech, and equipment coordination for a wide range of university events.

You will supervise student workers and contractors, develop training documentation, and coordinate with Facilities, Police, and Building Services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One year of education/experience in the area of specialization, or Master’s degree substitution for one year.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair AV/video equipment; willingness to lift up to 70 pounds and climb ladders as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate event operations for the Student Union, Education Building, and other NEIU venues.
• Advance event needs with NEIU faculty, staff, renters, and external partners.
• Set up/strike tables, chairs, staging, lecterns, and AV equipment; operate conference room AV tech and Zoom.
• Supervise student workers and contractors; create training and protocol docs.
• Administrate venue calendars and ensure accurate scheduling.
• Provide production support for NEIU venues and off-campus events as needed.
• Serve as liaison to faculty, rental clients, Police, and Building Services during events.
• Support pre-production meetings and on-site production for contracted rentals.
