Job summary

Miami University seeks an Energy Production Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of its steam plant, electrical generation plant, and distribution systems. You will manage personnel, budgets, and capital projects while ensuring compliance and continuous utility service to campus facilities.

Responsibilities include developing maintenance programs, negotiating contracts, and monitoring system performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience in facility or plant management.
Associate’s degree in engineering or related field with 7+ years of experience in facility or plant management.
Ten (10) years of experience in facility or plant management, including expertise in electric and steam production and equipment maintenance.
Possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain electrical and steam production systems safely and reliably.
Develop preventive and corrective maintenance activities for energy systems.
Coordinate with external consultants and contractors for operations and maintenance.
Provide 24/7 emergency support for system operations.
Develop SOPs and participate in budget planning and cost controls.
Lead training and supervision of station engineers; manage department budgets.
