Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid journeyman electrician license.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and maintenance procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently or in a team.
• Valid driver’s license; may respond to emergencies outside normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, controls, and related equipment.
• Diagnose electrical problems and determine corrective action.
• Perform preventative maintenance on campus electrical systems and equipment.
• Ensure electrical work complies with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
• Maintain and repair lighting systems, panels, motors, generators, and building controls.
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergency service calls promptly.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other facilities staff on projects.
• Maintain inventory of electrical supplies and recommend materials and equipment purchases.
