Job summary

State Center Community College District is seeking an Electrician to perform skilled electrical work across district facilities, including installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, motor controllers, switchgear and lighting.

The ideal candidate has a journeyman level background with an accredited trade school diploma and an electrical apprenticeship, plus three years of field experience, and will coordinate with vendors, attend job sites, and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited vocational trade school and completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
• Three years of journey-level experience in industrial electrical systems.
• Focus on medium commercial or heavy industrial is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, diagnoses, analyzes and repairs electrical systems and components.
• Installs upgrades, including conduits, wiring, switches and controls.
• Inspects systems, tests circuits and ensures safety and compliance.
• Coordinates with vendors/contractors and supports commissioning of new equipment.
• Plans work from blueprints and maintains records.
