Job summary

Tufts Dining is seeking a General Assistant for evenings and weekends at Tufts University’s dining facilities in Somerville, MA. The role focuses on cleaning, ware washing, stocking, and general upkeep to support a high-quality dining experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include handling pots and dishes, sanitation, organization of storage areas, and assisting with basic kitchen tasks when needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak and understand the English language.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Flexible and willing to learn and execute various jobs as needed.
• Enthusiastic about high level of internal/external customer contact and maintain a friendly attitude.

Responsibilities

• Wash pots, pans, utensils and air dry; put away in designated areas.
• Use cleaning and sanitizing agents at correct temperatures.
• Keep mop-sink and custodial rooms organized and clean.
• Move equipment on/off dining vehicles and within the unit.
• Dispose of trash, recycling, compost; maintain storage bins.
