Job summary

Tufts Dining is seeking a Stock Control Clerk for the academic year. The role operates Monday–Thursday 6:30 AM–5:00 PM with Friday–Sunday off and is based at our dining facilities serving the Medford/Somerville and SMFA/Fenway campuses.

You will oversee receipt, storage, and inventory control of food, beverages, supplies, and equipment, ensuring FIFO, safety standards, and orderly operations. This is an hourly lead position with opportunities to mentor student staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of five years of experience in a high-volume, fast-paced food service/receiving/inventory control.
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to follow detailed receiving documents, purchase orders, invoices, and inventory reports.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, secure, and inventory control of food, beverages, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintain receiving docks, storage areas, refrigerators, freezers, and related workspaces.
• Stock shelves and service areas, prepare and transport products to production and service locations.
• Safeguard inventory including high-value items; participate in weekly inventories.
• Coordinate with Receivers, Drivers, and staff; lead student workers as needed.
