Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Retail Manager to oversee the retail/cafeteria operation of Food & Nutrition Services under the direction of the Director of Dining Services. You will plan and supervise staff, ensure cash controls and customer satisfaction, train team members, and report on daily and monthly metrics according to corporate policies.

Preferred qualifications include a BS in Food Services Technology/Management or related field and 1–3 years of retail foodservice management

Qualifications

• BS in Food Services Technology/Management or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of retail foodservice management experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of food trends, sanitation, and cost controls.
• P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plans and supervises special functions, maintains cash controls, payroll records, and oversees hiring/training of hourly staff.
• Ensures customer satisfaction and good public relations through safe and efficient use of resources.
• Directs staff to provide scheduled retail services according to policies and standards.
• Trains staff in customer service, portioning, cashier skills, and safety/sanitation.
• Completes daily/weekly/monthly reports as outlined in corporate policies.
