Job summary

Beach Shops at CSU Long Beach seeks a Residential Dining Manager II to lead front-of-house during peak meals, supervise staff, manage budgets, and ensure service excellence in campus dining. You will oversee payments, inventory, safety compliance, and vendor contracts while training employees and collaborating with campus partners for quality, safety, and profitability.

The role requires strong leadership, budgetary skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Three years minimum of management experience, preferably in a restaurant or campus dining.
• Strong PC and MS Office experience (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint).
• Manager Serve Safe certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Must be present and engaging in front-of-house during peak hours.
• Responsible for safeguarding payments, inventory and company equipment, including reconciliation.
• Ensure unit compliance with university policies, local/state/federal laws and regulations.
• Assist with budget, planning and operations; primarily responsible for financial management and profitability.
• Plan menus, purchases, and duties for special meals or occasions.
• Conduct monthly staff meetings and training; maintain records.
