Bon Appetit Management Company seeks a General Manager to lead dining services at La Verne University, overseeing residential dining, retail, catering, and events with full financial accountability.

The role requires 5–7 years of senior leadership in higher education dining or contract food service, with a strong focus on budgeting, operations, and client relations. This position emphasizes strategic leadership and campus hospitality excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Five to seven years of progressive leadership experience in higher education dining, hospitality, contract food service, or multi-unit operations.
• Proven success managing large-scale dining operations with full financial and operational accountability.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost controls, and P&L management.
• Experience leading multiple service areas including residential dining, retail operations, catering, and events.
• Demonstrated ability to build client relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of food service trends, culinary innovation, retail dining concepts, marketing strategies, and customer engagement programs.
• Proven leadership, coaching, and employee development experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
• Experience with cash-handling and retail food service operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial reporting systems.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for hospitality and campus dining excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for all dining service operations including residential dining, retail venues, catering, concessions, and events.
• Serve as the primary partner to university leadership and campus stakeholders.
• Lead execution of operational, financial, and service objectives with compliance to standards.
• Own the account's financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, and period-end reporting.
• Develop strategic plans to grow revenue, improve efficiency, and enhance client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with culinary leadership on menus, concepts, and wellness initiatives.
• Drive campus engagement through marketing and student-focused programs.
• Conduct regular management meetings to align priorities and drive improvements.
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop management and frontline staff; foster accountability.
• Conduct evaluations, coaching, and professional development for team members.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, allergen awareness, and regulatory compliance.
• Audit locations for policy adherence and best practices.
• Monitor performance via financial results and KPIs; take corrective actions as needed.
• Promote a culture of hospitality, inclusion, safety, and service excellence.
