The position involves training student workers, ensuring proper food handling, and adhering to health regulations while supporting a full-service dining operation across campus locations.

Qualifications

• Ability to push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 200 lb and lift up to 50 lb during storage and rotation of food products.
• Basic knowledge of safe and efficient use of food service equipment and cleaning procedures.
• Knowledge of food production methods, sanitation, weights, and measures.
• Ability to read and follow recipes precisely.
• Understanding of sanitation and health precautions in food prep and service.
• AllerTrain and ServSafe certification offered and required within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Trains and guides student workers.
• Greets customers and provides information about food preparation and activities.
• Maintains and inspects kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Performs routine and special food prep, including cook-to-order and specialties.
• Follows federal, state, campus, and local food safety policies and procedures.
• Works under chefs and unit manager directives within University Dining.
