Manpower, Inc. in Detroit, MI is seeking motivated cooks to join a university dining team on 1st & 2nd shifts. This full-time, onsite role offers hourly pay of $16.35–$17.25 and involves preparing meals, following recipes, and maintaining kitchen safety and cleanliness.

You will work with fresh ingredients, learn standard procedures, and contribute to a positive dining experience for students, faculty, and guests. Prior cooking or food service experience is preferred.

Formación

• Experience as a Cook or in a related food service role.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques, methods, and kitchen operations.
• Understanding of food safety, sanitation and proper storage.
• Ability to obtain Food Safety Certification.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push and pull.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.
• Assist with food preparation, portioning, and ingredient setup.
• Ensure proper food handling, sanitation and storage.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment and stations.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Follow safety guidelines to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
• Assist with inventory rotation, storage and waste reduction.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and management for efficient operations.
• Support additional food service and kitchen duties as assigned.
