Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Chef Manager at Elmhurst University in IL to support culinary operations for a student dining location, supervise staff, and contribute to menu development and ordering. The role includes working with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to deliver quality meals and dining experiences.

The position involves a Sunday-Thursday 12:30pm-9:00pm shift with potential for additional hours, offering growth opportunities within a fast-paced, expanding on-campus

Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent education is preferred.
• Culinary/kitchen management experience is required.
• Experience with high-volume foodservice operations is highly desirable.
• Institutional and batch cooking experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of food trends, sanitation, and cost controls is important.
• Proficiency with computers is expected.
• ServSafe certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist dining team with cost controls and expenditure management.
• Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus.
• Foster client relationships to align programs with objectives and drive satisfaction.
• Handle inventory, ordering, and administrative tasks to support operations.
