Job summary

Campus Dining and Shops at UB in Buffalo, NY, is seeking a full-time cashier to provide efficient service to students, faculty, staff and visitors. You will handle money, operate a POS system, prep simple items, and maintain a clean, organized station in a high-volume dining environment.

Responsibilities include accurate cash handling, friendly service, station setup, and adherence to money and merchandising policies. Union contract details may apply; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum one-year verifiable cashier and money handling experience.
• Experience with computer-based point of sale cash register system.
• Experience with food preparation preferred.
• Must be able to pass PCI testing to be PCI compliant.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English, and have accurate math skills.
• Must maintain professional appearance, demeanor, and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Accurate cash handling and food preparation.
• Provide excellent customer service by serving customers in a friendly & courteous manner.
• Station setup, breakdown, restocking, and occasionally putting orders away.
• Keep a neat, clean, and sanitized work area.
• Must work consistently and productively during entire shift.
• General cleaning, other food service duties, and projects as requested by management.
