Job summary

Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell, MT invites applications for the Student, Dining Services Assistant (Work Study) position at Eagle’s Nest Cafe. The role supports campus dining operations, performs cashier tasks, food prep, and stock gathering, with shifts Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., up to 19 hours weekly during fall/spring.

Eligibility requires Work Study status, ability to follow directions with minimal supervision, prior cashier experience, and food service training or

Qualifications

• Students must be Work Study Eligible (as determined by Financial Aid).
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow direction.
• Previous cashier experience, and
• Previous food service training, knowledge and/or experience and advanced cooking skills, and
• Previous training experience, ability to train other students, and
• Customer service skills, and
• Possesses a cooperative spirit in working with peers, supervisors, students and public.

Responsibilities

• Performs experienced food service preparation support under supervision.
• Performs cashier functions.
• Performs food preparation and stock gathering.
• Cleans equipment, utensils and countertops.
• Ensures proper food handling and storage.
