Job summary

University of Notre Dame is seeking dedicated and dependable individuals to join our team as a Temporary/On-Call Custodian. In this role, you will work across campus facilities.

Key responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing interior spaces, floor care, waste removal, and replenishing restroom supplies. Schedule is Monday–Friday 6 am–2:30 pm with some weekend/event coverage; pay is $18.00/hr.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 95% of the shift.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Must be able to push and pull wheeled loads.
• Must be able to successfully complete and follow all assigned training.
• Must be able to work safely and follow operating procedures.
• Must be able to take direction and work independently or as part of a team.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and have good communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all types of interior building spaces.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, and scrub floors and surfaces.
• Remove trash and recyclables and properly dispose of waste.
• Refill restroom supply dispensers.
• Shovel snow and dispense ice melt product near building entrances and exits.
• Follow safe operating procedures when performing custodial tasks, using chemicals, and operating tools and equipment.
• Report hazards, incidents, and maintenance issues promptly.
