Job summary

The University of Notre Dame is seeking dedicated and dependable individuals to join our Custodial Services team as Temporary/On-Call Custodians across campus. You will clean and sanitize interior spaces, sweep, mop, and manage waste while following safety procedures.

This role supports campus operations with flexible hours, Monday through Friday 6 am – 2:30 pm and occasional weekend coverage. Prioritize reliability, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and ability to work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• - Must be able to stand and walk for up to 95% of the shift.
• - Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs.
• - Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• - Must be able to push and pull wheeled loads.
• - Must be able to successfully complete and follow all assigned training.
• - Must be able to work safely and follow operating procedures.
• - Must be able to take direction and work independently or as part of a team.
• - Must be dependable, punctual, and have good communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, and scrub floors and surfaces
• Remove trash and recyclables and properly dispose of waste
• Refill restroom supply dispensers
• Shovel snow and dispense ice melt product near building entrances and exits
• Follow safe operating procedures when performing custodial tasks, using chemicals, and operating tools and equipment
• Report hazards, incidents, and maintenance issues promptly

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally

Hiring Pay Range: $18.00/hr
