Job summary

Jackson College is seeking a part-time Cleaning Team Member to maintain clean, safe, and student-ready facilities across campus. The role involves janitorial duties in classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas, with training provided on procedures, safety, and equipment handling.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or in a team within a fast-paced environment. A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED are required.

Qualifications

• Read, understand, and follow safety procedures and MSDS to maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with students, staff, and visitors.
• Work collaboratively as a team to support a positive campus climate.
• Safely and responsibly use cleaning equipment and supplies with care and attention to detail.
• Follow oral and written instructions to support daily operations and events.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain clean, orderly, and safe environments that reduce barriers to learning.
• Contribute to a welcoming campus atmosphere that supports student belonging and retention.
• Interact courteously with students, employees, and visitors.
• Support campus events and activities that enhance student experience.
• Demonstrate care, pride, and accountability in spaces used by students and staff.
• Clean floors, walls, windows, and fixtures; dispose of waste and sanitize restrooms.
• Assist with snow removal and salting; unlock/lock interior rooms as needed.
• Assist with event setup/teardown and general building maintenance.
