Job summary

Jackson College is seeking a dependable Cleaning Team Member for the 2nd shift (2:30pm–11:00pm) in Michigan. The role focuses on maintaining safe, clean spaces—restrooms, classrooms, offices, and common areas—to support a positive campus environment for students and staff.

Training on procedures, safety, equipment use, and chemical handling is provided. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer service minded, and able to work independently or in a team within a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum one or more years of related janitorial or custodial experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred.
• Ability to read and follow safety procedures and use equipment properly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming campus facilities.
• Clean, sanitize, and disinfect restrooms, classrooms, offices and common areas.
• Empty waste/recycling and replenish supplies as needed.
• Perform floor care including mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, and refinishing floors.
• Set up/tear down rooms for meetings and events; assist with snow/ice removal.
• Operate custodial equipment and store cleaning products safely.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE; report hazards promptly.
• Provide courteous service to students, staff, and visitors.
