Job summary

University of Texas at Austin is seeking a part-time Building Attendant II to help maintain campus facilities. The role involves custodial tasks, floor care, restroom upkeep, and assisting with room setups for events on a weekly 19-hour schedule.

Hours are Monday 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and Tuesday 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; non-exempt from FLSA. A background check and safety training may be required. UT Austin emphasizes a tobacco-free campus and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial, environmental services, hospitality, warehouse, production or facilities maintenance, and ability to follow basic instructions.
• Education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with supervisors and peers effectively.

Responsibilities

• Keep the area outside the facility neat and clean.
• Perform floor care including shampooing, scrubbing, stripping and finishing floors.
• Clean and stock restrooms; maintain supplies.
• Set up and break down rooms for events.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust and remove trash throughout the facility.
• Follow directions from building supervisors and use custodial equipment properly.
• Adhere to safety protocols and complete other duties as assigned.
