Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District is seeking a campus custodian to maintain a clean, safe school environment. Responsibilities include following cleaning schedules, performing minor maintenance, and assisting with event setup as directed by campus administrators.

The role requires ability to lift heavy objects, operate cleaning equipment, and follow district safety procedures. A valid Texas driver’s license or ID is required for eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to operate cleaning/maintenance equipment and lift heavy equipment.
• Valid Texas or New Mexico driver's license or identification card; must be insurable by the district's auto liability insurer.

Responsibilities

• Follow cleaning schedules to clean floors, carpets, boards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, and restrooms; assist with events as directed.
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs; monitor boiler room and report malfunctions.
• Regulate HVAC to maintain appropriate temperatures per district guidelines.
• Open, secure, monitor and safeguard facilities.
• Assemble, disassemble, repair and refurbish furniture as needed.
• Attend work site as required.
