Job summary

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is seeking a custodial technician responsible for cleaning, maintenance and safety across campus facilities. The role involves heavy lifting, operating cleaning and repair equipment, and responding to emergencies such as water, flood or mold incidents.

Typical duties include setting up spaces for events, assisting with lunchroom arrangements, and daily opening/closing of buildings while ensuring security protocols are followed.

Qualifications

• Must have a Clear and valid Texas Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Occasionally required to climb ladders, ramps, and stairs; continuous walking and standing.
• Ability to work days, nights and possible weekends.
• Ability to read and understand cleaning, maintenance and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Moves – heavy and hazardous equipment; furniture; shop machines.
• Furniture removal - recycle/trash.
• Pressure washing.
• Water/flood extractions & fire cleanups.
• Equipment repairs as needed.
• High dusting; lift certification/experience required.
• Hazmat – assist in removal of chemicals.
• Gym floors cleanup.
• Mold remediation – clean, disinfect, and neutralize.
• Trash removal.
• Backup coverage for custodial absences.
• Disinfect according to procedures.
• Keep buildings/grounds neat and clean.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Assist with lunchroom set up.
• Preventive maintenance for safety of students and staff.
• Move furniture/equipment as directed by principal.
• Set up facilities for special events.
• Open/close building daily.
• Locking and safeguarding procedures.
• Check exit doors/Panic bolts.
• Inspect machines/equipment for safety.
• Operate tools/equipment safely.
• Report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Move, unpack, and stock supplies/books.
• Regular attendance is essential.
