Job summary

The University of Rhode Island in Kingston, RI seeks a Full-Time Custodian to perform cleaning, custodial, and simple maintenance tasks across campus facilities. The role follows listed duties, including floor care, waste disposal, glass cleaning, and setting up spaces as needed.

Schedule is Thursday through Monday, 7:30am–4:00pm, with days off Tue–Wed; a background check is required. Eligibility includes basic education, ability to follow directions, and a willingness to work in an environment

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of equipment, materials and methods used in cleaning and custodial work.
• Ability to understand and carry out simple directions.
• Other related capacities and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, carpets, walls, windows, and other surfaces in university facilities.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Move office furniture and equipment as needed.
• Spray and fumigate for insects when directed.
• Record safety issues and notify facilities for maintenance.
