Job summary

The University of Dubuque is seeking a dependable Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across campus facilities. This position supports daily operations by ensuring classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas are kept to high standards.

You will work well independently or as part of a team and contribute to the University’s mission. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, able to lift up to 40 lbs, and comfortable standing or walking for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Driver's license is preferred.
• Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors to ensure a safe environment.
• Deep clean bathrooms (showers, toilets, tiles).
• Wash walls and windows.
• Empty trash and recycling; ensure proper disposal.
• Assist with setup and teardown for campus events.
• Operate floor and carpet machines.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the University's mission.
