Job summary

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is seeking a Custodian to join our custodial team across academic spaces, residence halls, and student recreation, union, and food service areas on campus.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the ability to work independently or with a team. Weekend, night, and holiday hours may apply with differential pay; high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to meet the physical demands and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read work instructions, schedules and labels.
• Willingness to learn safety procedures and operate cleaning equipment.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Implements and maintains prescribed cleaning standards.
• Communicates with students, staff, and guests to address needs and service requests.
• Monitors and secures facility entrances and reports issues.
• Maintains organization of supply areas and documents inventory.
• Documents repairs, safety hazards, and pest control needs.
• Operates cleaning equipment to clean assigned areas and remove waste.
• Maintains clear walkways free of debris, snow, and ice.
• Assists with moving projects and collaborates with team members.
