Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties across classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas in a K-12 or higher education campus environment.

You will sweep, mop, empty trash, handle recycling, and maintain spotless surfaces while following safety procedures and communicating effectively with the facilities team. On-the-job training provided; high school diploma not required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Preferred: Prior customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, such as classrooms, hallways, restrooms and offices.
• Sweep, mop floors, remove debris in designated areas.
• Empty trash receptacles and manage recycling in designated areas.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to protect floors and fixtures.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs or additions to building systems.
• Establish effective communication with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, and managers.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, and equipment to clean areas as needed.
• Clean interior glass, windows, partitions, and mirrors.
