Job summary

University of Indianapolis is seeking a Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day custodial operations, including 1st and 3rd shifts, in academic buildings and dorms. You will train staff, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with the manager on progress and needs.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in custodial work, with a high school diploma or GED. You will lead a team, conduct regular check-ins, and participate in meetings to drive objectives and improve service quality.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years in the custodial field.
• Intermediate knowledge of cleaning terms and safety procedures related to hazardous chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of 1st & 3rd shift Custodians.
• Regular communication with the manager, including at least two daily check-ins.
• Provide guidance, training and mentorship to employees and address issues.
• Inspect, evaluate and provide feedback to team members.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations and safety guidelines.
• Participate in leadership and staff meetings to communicate objectives and updates.
• Approve attendance and Web Time Entry.
• Assign relief custodians to fill in for absentee workers.
• Follow the guidance and direction of the Manager.
• Other duties, including special projects, as required.
