Job summary

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Housing & Hospitality Services seeks a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee cleaning operations for a multi-unit residence hall and adjacent spaces. You will lead 16–20 full-time staff plus up to 10 seasonal workers, training teams on proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and budget-conscious practices.

Responsibilities include on-site inspections, scheduling, and producing reports on performance and inventory.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years custodial experience in a large institution (Required)
• 1-2 years leading or overseeing teams (Preferred)
• Experience in a higher education environment (Preferred)
• Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to staff personnel policies and AFSCME agreement (Preferred)
• Ability to read and write concise English for schedules, reports, payroll etc. (Required)
• Ability to inspect units for quality control and maintenance needs.
• Budget and inventory awareness for supplies and costs (Required)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (Required)
• Willingness to work overtime, swing shifts and weekends (Required)
• Must have valid California driver’s license (Required)

Responsibilities

• Oversee housekeeping functions for a multi-unit residence hall facility
• Supervise 16-20 full-time housekeepers and up to 10 seasonal staff
• Provide on-the-job training on proper use of chemicals and equipment
• Ensure safety and sanitation standards are met
• Conduct on-site inspections for quality control and maintenance needs
• Prepare written schedules, performance evaluations, payroll reports and related documents
