Job summary

UC San Diego's Housing/Dining/Hospitality department seeks a Custodial Laborer to support residences, dining facilities, study rooms and grounds. Under supervision, you will perform unskilled manual tasks, operate university vehicles, and safeguard custodial supplies and keys.

You will interact with residents and staff, respond to requests, and work Saturdays-Wednesday, 8:00am-4:30pm, with potential overtime and alternate shifts as needed. A valid CA driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to operate large box trucks, closed vans, golf carts, and other university vehicles.
• Experience in heavy lifting and manual labor with knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of general custodial duties and operation of custodial equipment.
• Ability to use cleaning chemicals safely and appropriately.
• Maintain punctuality and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work alone or in a team and build customer relationships.
• Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and judgment for emergencies.

Responsibilities
