Job summary

UC San Diego's Residential, Retail and Supply Chain Services (RRSS) team is seeking a custodian to perform cleaning in College Residences and Dining Halls, operate vacuums and floor machines, and maintain bathrooms, kitchens, suites and common areas. You will also respond to routine and emergency requests and support student residents and guests.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of custodial cleaning experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning solutions, disinfectants, and equipment.
• Ability to clean rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas while respecting privacy.
• Understanding of fire alarms, water leaks, biohazard spills, and emergencies.
• Willing to work overtime or alternate hours.
• Independent or collaborative work delivering student-focused service.
• Basic computer skills to check email and complete records.
• Manage custodial keys and radios securely.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled and skilled cleaning of residence and dining facilities.
• Operate vacuum cleaners and floor machines.
• Clean rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and appliances.
• Move and arrange furniture; wash windows.
• Safeguard keys and custodial supplies.
• Respond to routine and emergency work requests.
• Provide customer service to student residents and guests.
