Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two years of custodial experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand cleaning and safety instructions.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy items.
• Ability to use computer software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
• Ability to respond after hours to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Direct and monitor the work of custodians at the campus.
• Screen, train, and supervise custodians.
• Set up facilities for special events as needed.
• Maintain cleaning schedules for floors, walls, restrooms, and equipment.
• Keep buildings and grounds neat and clean, including sidewalks and parking areas.
• Ensure proper storage and disposal of trash per district procedures.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and order as required.
• Assist with lunchroom setup and seating arrangements.
• Regulate HVAC to maintain comfortable temperatures and efficiency.
• Make minor repairs and report major needs to supervisor/principal.
• Open/close building daily and secure facilities.
• Oversee door locking/security during occupancy.
