Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT. You will prepare, portion, cook and present hot and cold items for all meals and events, following Sodexo culinary standards and maintaining a clean, safe workstation.

You’ll work in a fast-paced kitchen, support teamwork, and uphold high food safety and sanitation standards. Responsibilities include following recipes, estimating production requirements, tasting dishes, and ensuring quality service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable standards to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, and serving various foods.
• Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and requisition supplies.
• Significant walking or other mobility.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time during shifts.
• Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Attend work and be on time for scheduled shifts.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
