Compass Group North America is hiring immediately for full-time COOK positions at the University of North Alabama, Florence, AL. Schedule runs Friday through Tuesday, 1:00 pm–9:00 pm with additional weekend hours. Prior cooking experience is required and pay ranges from $15.00 to $17.00 per hour.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Job duties include preparing meals to standard recipes, ensuring proper temperatures, HACCP compliance, and maintaining a clean kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning and ensuring proper temperatures, attractive presentation and good taste.
• Cleans kitchen after service and maintains high standards of cleanliness; stores or discards excess food per safe handling procedures.
• Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean; ensures proper storage of food and supplies.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed; assists in production planning and reporting.
