Job summary

The University of Michigan is seeking a project manager within Architecture, Engineering and Construction to lead contract administration and oversee design and construction phases for campus projects. The role emphasizes timely, budget-conscious delivery and cross-functional coordination across engineers, architects, and vendors.

You will monitor progress, evaluate changes, ensure safety compliance, and communicate updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture.
• Minimum of two years of construction project management experience.
• Understanding of standard construction documents such as contracts, bulletins, change orders and pay applications.
• Ability to access multiple campus buildings with varying entry structures.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the contract from kickoff to closeout and review communications.
• Oversee design/bid phase, review documents, and provide feedback on budget and schedule.
• Coordinate field staff, engineers, and inspectors for quality assurance.
• Evaluate change requests and prepare contract change documents.
• Support safety and regulatory reviews and inspections for occupancy.
• Provide monthly project progress summaries to stakeholders.
• Coordinate project turnover with user groups and maintenance teams.
