Job summary

University of North Texas Health Fort Worth is seeking a Construction Project Manager to coordinate schedules, sources, and costs for building projects. You will monitor budgets, manage documentation, and ensure work aligns with contract documents and safety standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of construction experience, with strong cost control and vendor coordination skills. On-site work schedule is Monday–Friday, with regular site meetings and updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and five (5) years of related experience in the construction industry.
  • Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares budget estimates / ROMs
  • Oversee that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals and procedures.
  • Oversee that the project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices.
  • Ensure inspections are performed and documented.
  • Provide technical support and be responsible for developing and maintaining project cost/change controls, project budget, and accounting records.
  • Coordinate and monitor schedule updates, invoices, and submittals.
  • Assist in managing and reviewing the progress of contractors' construction schedules.
  • Review weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes.
  • The project manager will meet regularly with all of the parties involved, including the contractors and client, to provide status updates and answer questions.
  • Review the completeness of construction documents and specifications - missing details or unmarked assumptions that can lead to scope gaps and change orders.
  • Provides on-the-job training and guidance to new team members. Serves as a team lead by coordinating workflow, sharing expertise, and mentoring junior staff, while not holding formal supervisory responsibilities.
