Job summary

Auburn University’s Facilities Management is looking for a Construction Tech to support the construction, repair, and maintenance of campus buildings, streets, and property. You will contribute to providing a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Level I/II positions require a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license; Level II adds 4 years in carpentry/roofing/road repair/concrete finishing.

Qualifications

• Level I requires a high school diploma and valid driver's license.
• Level II requires a high school diploma and 4 years of carpentry/roofing/road repair/concrete forming and finishing experience; valid driver's license also required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carpentry tasks for installation, repair, and maintenance of ceilings, flooring, walls, windows, doors, and siding.
• Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces including sheetrock, wood, brick, concrete, handrails, posts and chains.
• Perform minor demolition for renovations and construction projects.
• Operate motorized equipment such as forklifts, trucks/trailers, and man lifts.
• Meet training and certification requirements per department policy.
• Possibly manage small projects, including logistics, cleanup, and client interactions.
• Assist with setting up barricades and dividers across campus.
• Assist with assembly, installation, and repair of office and classroom furnishings.
