Job summary

Auburn University Facilities Management is seeking a skilled HVACR Technician to join our maintenance team, ensuring reliable heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems across campus. You will perform routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and assist in major system projects under supervision, contributing to a safe, comfortable campus environment.

The role includes potentially on-call duty and requires Level I or II qualifications, valid driver's license, and appropriate refrigerant

Qualifications

• Level I: High school diploma and 2 years of experience as an HVACR technician.
• Level I: Valid Driver's License - Upon Hire.
• Level I: Universal Refrigerant Card - within 90 days of Hire.
• Level II: Some college; Associate's Degree in HVAC Systems or related field and 5 years of HVACR experience.
• Level II: Valid Driver's License - Upon Hire.
• Level II: Universal Refrigerant Card - Upon Hire.
• Level II: NATE HVAC Certification or approved equivalent per policy - Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine repairs and preventive maintenance to HVACR equipment such as air handling units, chillers, heat pumps, exhaust fans, and related systems.
• Assists in major component replacement and system repair projects under supervision.
• Supports on-call rotations and returns to the site within 45 minutes when scheduled.
• Maintains safety, quality, and compliance with university policies.

Associate's degree / vocational in HVAC Systems

NATE Certification (or approved equivalent)
