Job summary

Auburn University Facilities Management seeks a motivated HVACR Technician to maintain campus heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. You will support students, faculty, and staff by ensuring equipment runs efficiently and safely while coordinating with the Facilities Management AIM system for planned and urgent repairs.

The position emphasizes on-site maintenance, adherence to training requirements, and the ability to handle emergency repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 2 years experience as an HVACR technician.
• Valid Driver's License upon Hire.
• Universal Refrigerant Card within 90 days of Hire.
• Some college or Associate's degree in HVACR or related fields with 5 years experience.
• NATE HVAC Certification or approved equivalent upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Install, replace, or repair HVACR equipment including refrigeration, air conditioning, motors, boilers, and related components.
• Plan, schedule, and execute major HVACR repair projects (AHUs, chillers, boilers) and lead emergency repairs.
• Inspect and troubleshoot HVACR systems to evaluate status and determine repairs.
• Oversee work orders using AIM system to prioritize and meet campus needs.
• May serve in on-call periods and return to the worksite within 45 minutes when scheduled.
• Meet training and certification requirements per Auburn University Facilities Management policy.
