Job summary

The role requires an apprenticeship in boiler/turbine operation, and a valid Oregon driver’s license. Shift rotations and on‑call duties are expected as essential personnel.

Qualifications

• Boiler and Turbine Operator apprenticeship or equivalent with knowledge of turbine generators, centrifugal chillers, high‑pressure boilers and related electrical/refrigeration systems.
• Valid Oregon driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to operate, monitor, and respond to alarms in complex utility systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate UO steam plant (two high‑pressure boilers) and CG/CHP plant to support campus utilities.
• Distribute electrical load (12,470 V) to campus buildings and coordinate islanding during power isolation.
• Monitor BAS alarms and control systems; perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
• Collaborate with CPFM teams, vendors, and regulators; maintain compliance with safety and permits.
