Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas at K-12 schools and college or university campuses.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and offices; following safety and cleaning procedures; and maintaining communication with supervisors and clients. No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas: classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices.
• Sweep, mop floors, remove debris, and clean spills.
• Empty trash receptacles in all designated areas.
• Follow procedures for cleaners and power equipment to protect floors.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs needed.
• Maintain communication with clients, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Sort and recycle waste into proper receptacles.
• Dust and wipe desks, tables, and fixtures; polish surfaces.
• Wipe tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
• Move cabinets and furniture using hand trucks.
• Clean interior glass, windows, and mirrors.
• Sweep walks and handle seasonal tasks like leaves or snow.
• Maintain restrooms; keep them clean and polished.
• Comply with safety, security, and quality standards.
