Job summary

The University of the Pacific is seeking a Director of Building Operations to ensure daily facility readiness across the School of Dentistry. You will lead inspections, coordinate with vendors, and oversee the preventative maintenance program to support safe, operational environments.

Responsibilities include managing a facilities team, planning capital replacements, budgeting with the Director, and ensuring efficient event support and exams. Occasional after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' administrative experience in facilities.
• Minimum of three years of prior manager/supervision experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily building inspections to proactively identify and resolve deficiencies.
• Oversee maintenance and operations decisions; schedule equipment shutdowns with vendors and contractors.
• Manage building operations team to support all scheduled events and exams from planning to execution.
• Assist with the development, maintenance, and implementation of the capital equipment replacement plan; make recommendations regarding replacement of capital equipment.
• Manage a web-based work order/maintenance management system.
• Develop and maintain administrative and operational policies and procedures for use of clinical and mechanical equipment.
• Analyze training needs for department and oversee staff training and participation in ongoing technical training; develop in-house training modules.
• Collaborate with Director of Building Operations to prepare annual departmental budget.
• Act as Director of Building Operations in the absence of the Director.
• Perform all other duties assigned by the Director, Building Operations.
