Job summary

Wake Forest University is seeking a Building Automation Specialist to support the Building Performance Improvement Initiative across the Reynolda Campus. You will monitor BAS data, identify inefficiencies, and implement data-driven solutions to optimize HVAC performance and energy use.

In collaboration with Facilities Maintenance, campus engineers, and external contractors, you will lead retro-commissioning efforts, support energy metering programs, and maintain meticulous documentation of

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, HVAC Technology, Building Automation, or related field with 3–5 years of experience.
Knowledge of commercial building systems, HVAC sensors, and control theory.
Experience with at least one major BAS platform and ability to diagnose BAS, metering, and related software.
Strong analytical skills to assess energy performance and identify improvements.
Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and building system software tools.

Responsibilities

Monitor BAS data to identify performance degradation and inefficiencies.
Develop control sequence tuning and retro-commissioning to restore peak performance.
Assist in re-commissioning major HVAC systems to verify operation.
Contribute to a campus analytics platform (FDD) for predictive optimization.
Collaborate with Facilities Maintenance, campus engineers, and external contractors.
Perform facility walkthroughs and energy audits to identify high-consumption areas.
Document data-driven corrective measures with cost-benefit analyses.
Lead campus energy metering program and ensure data integrity.
