Job summary

BibliU is seeking an Assistant Store Manager at SOWELA Tech Community College in Lake Charles, LA. This full-time role (40 hours/week) pays $15.00 per hour and reports to the Store Manager.

You will help plan and manage the campus textbook and general merchandise store, collaborate with the regional manager on inventory, and support day-to-day operations. Key duties include building faculty relationships, hiring and training staff, managing cash, and maintaining accurate textbook data.

Qualifications

• Must have 3–5 years in a college bookstore or retail operation.
• 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Excellent team-building skills.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain good working relationships with faculty and staff.
• Schedule regular appointments with administrative personnel to build rapport and resolve issues.
• Recruit, hire, train and maintain staff per guidelines and budgets.
• Handle daily cash register operations, data entry, textbook receiving and stocking, and end-of-day balancing.
• Answer telephone and email; provide customer service across areas.
• Travel to and operate remote locations each semester.
