MCD Global Health seeks a DevOps/Data Engineering consultant for a two‑month pilot to consolidate PALU and CIMS on AWS and Databricks. You will implement CI/CD pipelines, data models, and cost analyses, working under the Digital Health Tools and Systems Lead to enable staff to manage the systems independently.

The role emphasizes security, documentation, and knowledge transfer, with a November–December 2026 timeline aligned to MCD's budget year.

Formación

• Five+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure or data engineering.

Responsabilidades

• Assess Databricks against PALU's current and expected data warehouse needs and requirements of active projects.
• Set up a small Databricks data model with a representative subset of PALU data to estimate compute, storage and licensing costs.
• Configure connectors to priority external data sources to test data warehouse population and currency.
• Prepare a cost-benefit analysis for MCD PALU covering direct costs, staff time, skills required, and risks of adopting the platform.
• Draft plans for future projects addressing data interoperability, governance and localization requirements.
• Document all configuration, test results and findings.
• Configure GitLab CI/CD pipelines for PALU and the new CIMS codebase, including automated reports and dbt builds.
• Assist with application logging configuration for CIMS and PALU processes.
• Define and configure pipeline notifications and access controls.
• Review AWS costs monthly and identify savings opportunities.
• Maintain documentation and runbooks; provide training and handover sessions.
• Triage and resolve maintenance tickets in Jira.
