Job summary

Corner Alliance is seeking a Databricks Consultant to design a dashboard prototype and build scalable data pipelines for federal data used in broadband and policy analysis.

The role requires 6+ years of experience, strong Python/SQL with Spark, and the ability to translate complex questions into data products. This is a remote, short-term contractor position (~80 hrs/month for two months).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, software development, BI, or related roles.
• Hands-on Databricks experience in production or prototype projects.
• Strong Python and SQL, including Spark/PySpark with large structured datasets.
• Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines and reusable analytical datasets.
• Proven track record building interactive dashboards/BI apps from integrated data.
• Proficient with Git and modern software development practices.
• Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into practical technical designs.
• Clear communication of decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and ability to pass a public trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of a Databricks-based dashboard prototype translating economist requirements into technical capabilities.
• Design scalable data ingestion, transformation, integration, and quality-control workflows for broadband, demographic, economic, and geographic datasets.
• Develop interactive dashboards with maps, comparisons, trends, filters, KPIs, and downloadable outputs.
• Build analytical datasets using Python, SQL, Spark/PySpark, Delta Lake, and Databricks workflows with metadata and lineage.
• Translate program and policy questions into data products, visualizations, queries, and reusable workflows.
• Document architecture, data pipelines, schemas, data dictionaries, and deployment procedures.
• Collaborate across economists, engineers, and stakeholders; contribute to our commitments to deliver, grow, thrive.
• Communicate limitations and dependencies clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
