Job summary

MCD Global Health seeks a consultant to consolidate data systems for PALU and the Bioko Island malaria program. The consultant will evaluate Databricks versus existing pipelines, set up a Databricks model using PALU data, and test connectors to external sources as part of a broader modernization effort.

The engagement covers cost-benefit analysis, governance considerations, and localization requirements, with a two-month pilot aligned to MCD's budget year and a plan for potential extension.

Qualifications

• Experience with data warehouses and analytics platforms.
• Ability to assess and compare data stack options for consolidation.
• Experience drafting cost-benefit analyses for data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Databricks assessment and pilot using PALU data and existing AWS environment.
• Set up a small Databricks data model with sample PALU data to estimate compute, storage, and licensing costs.
• Configure connectors to external data sources to test population of a data warehouse.
• Prepare a cost-benefit analysis covering direct costs, staffing, skills, and risks of adoption or non-adoption.
• Draft future plans addressing data interoperability, governance, and localization requirements.
