Job summary

PowerSwitch Action is seeking an experienced Communications Manager to drive campaigns and digital strategy across the US in partnership with local affiliates. You’ll craft messaging, manage email and social channels, and guide narrative development while lifting up community stories to inspire action.

You will supervise staff or contractors and partner with organizers, researchers, and fundraising teams to advance a multiracial feminist democracy agenda.

Qualifications

• On-the-ground experience leading communications for organizing, advocacy, basebuilding, or corporate campaigns.
• Experience managing email and social media programs; proven results.
• Ability to write quickly for diverse audiences and formats.
• Strong organizational skills; keep multiple projects moving and deadlines.
• Comfortable working remotely with US partners and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead communications for 1-2 major campaigns or programs at a time.
• Develop communications strategy with affiliates and partners; execute it.
• Craft messaging and talking points to frame campaigns and public narratives.
• Write op-eds, press releases, emails, social content, scripts, factsheets, blogs.
• Support earned media and spokesperson prep for local communicators.
• Grow audience and engagement; monitor analytics and trends.
