Job summary

Osborn for Senate is seeking an experienced Communications Director to lead the campaign’s communications operation in Omaha, NE. The role oversees press, digital coordination, and rapid response, reporting to the Campaign Manager. Salary is commensurate with experience and falls within a monthly range of $6,000–$10,000.

The Communications Director will drive message strategy, manage a team, and coordinate with the candidate and reporters at the local and national levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in campaign communications and messaging.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience managing a team and coordinating across channels.
• Familiarity with press, digital strategy, and rapid response.
• Ability to work under deadlines and coordinate with reporters.

Responsibilities

• Create a proactive communications plan and calendar for the campaign.
• Lead earned media strategy, pitching, events, and reporter relationships.
• Prepare the candidate for key interviews and appearances.
• Manage junior members of the communications team.
• Oversee policy roll-outs, press conferences, and events.
• Run rapid-response operations and timely messaging.
• Serve as primary media contact and spokesperson.
• Draft press releases, talking points, statements, and social copy.
